Michelle Rogers

Special guest

Michelle Rogers grew up a military brat, living primarily the southern U.S. but with an exciting 3-year tour on the island of Guam. The daughter of an Air Force officer, she landed in York County, Virginia as a high school student. She attended Christopher Newport College (now University) in Newport News, Virginia and became an official Virginian by marriage soon after.

Her early career focused on sales and marketing in many industries from industrial equipment to advertising. Michelle stumbled into economic development simply by applying for a state job with benefits. Her work with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership for 10 years included Business Retention, Business Attraction and Project Management with a focus on data centers, craft beverages and agriculture industries. After several brewery projects, partnering with Virginia’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Michelle left VEDP and worked with VDACS to learn more about agribusiness and agritourism. Returning to VEDP again, she focused on the tech industry with a data center specialty. Four years later, Michelle joined the Virginia’s Gateway Region to serve as the Director of Workforce Development in partnership with the Community College Workforce Alliance. In 2026, she joined a VGR partner community, Prince George County Economic Development & Tourism. She’s loving making an impact at the local level and serving the amazing, hard-working, community-loving citizens. Michelle is dedicated to the vision of Prince George County: “A welcoming community • Embracing its rural character • Focusing on its prosperous future”.

Michelle raised two handsome, smart and funny sons. Johnny, (passed away in 2013) and Kyle, (now 35!) who has blessed her by marrying Kailyn, the greatest daughter-in-law in the world. She married Chuck (aka Mr. Wonderful) in 2015 and together they enjoy spending time with their family including nieces, nephews, parents, sisters and ESPECIALLY their AMAZING granddaughters, Lyla Joy (6) and Lara Wynn (2.) Michelle and Chuck serve their church whenever possible and love to travel to their mission field in Poland.
